RISING STAR
I guess Paoli should focus on being a great actress, be it in Bollywood or Tollywood.
But, why not Bollywood? In Bombay, we have a number of Bengali actresses who have made a mark— Sharmila Tagore, Sushmita Sen, Bipasha Basu, Konkona Sensharma and more. Doing good films in Bollywood will give Paoli greater exposure, and she will bring a lot of glory to Bengal. When she has the chance, she should do good Bengali films, including guest appearances, so that we don’t miss out a great actress from our Bengali domain. In fact, as an actress, she should even pursue a career in Hollywood if she can. She has talent, she’s a ‘ somewhat’ good actor too.
What she says about Bombay is true— it has its own charm, the Barista or CCD at Bandstand, the long drives along Marine Drive or the Worli Seaface, the chats late at night, adda and ice cream at 4am, and the thrill of living alone in a new city. And yes, it’s true John Abraham is our gym- mate at Gold’s Bandra. We say ” hi” and ” hello” to him just like any other gym friend. The reason no one is really gaga about stars in Bandra or other parts of Bombay is that they were born there, and they grew up there and your neighbours and close friends take you as a normal person, whether you become a John or a Kareena.
Paoli looks great too. It’s time for Bong beauties to capture Bollywood once more.
In Bombay, they always say, ‘ If you are a Bong, half the battle is won!” Well, Paoli, half the battle is won because you are a Bong babe!
